We all want to believe that we’ve got this.
Coming together, making sacrifices to protect each other in the middle of a pandemic.
Well, it’s images like this that make it difficult for one to hold firm on the fact they we got this.
Because in Memphis, Tennessee, they don’t got this.
A video of fans sticking with the tradition of kiss cam during Memphis’ win over Arkansas State in their season-opening college football game has left people on social media shaking their heads.
Mid-way through the game, where fans were correctly spaced out in the grandstands inside Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, the live stadium entertainment threw up the kiss cam onto the big screens inside the venue.
What followed was just as awkward as it was a clear controvention of public health advice.
Even with all parties correctly wearing masks the social distancing involved in the Memphis circus is painful to watch.
The stadium entertainment involved fans embracing and kissing each other with their masks still on when the cameras hovered on their positions in the stands.
If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.
It was only last month that Canada’s public health experts warned the world to wear face masks even during sex in a bid to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Memphis went on to win the game 37-24.
