The Bachelor frontrunner Bella Varelis says her beloved grandfather died a couple of weeks after a psychic on the show made the heartbreaking prediction there would be a death in the family.
The 25-year-old was left in tears during Wednesday night’s episode when psychic medium Alison Maiden made the reading.
Bella shared the news of her grandfather’s passing on Friday night.
“Overwhelmed and beyond grateful for the love & messages I’ve been receiving,” she wrote.
“Unfortunately, my grandfather did end up passing away a couple weeks later and due to the COVID lockdown, I thankfully got to be home with my family and know he will always be looking over me.
“This moment was such an emotional whirlwind for me and I wasn’t expecting Locky to come and find me, but having him there was exactly the support I needed.”

The psychic medium had initially brought a smile to the frontrunner’s face when she told her “there’s a little boy that’s going to be born”.
She had earlier told star Locky Gilbert she saw him having “the most beautiful little boy”.
“Let’s not put two and two together just yet,” Maiden said.
She told Bella there would be “a few changes in the family”.
“There’s going to be people going out the door and there’s going to be someone coming in the door,” she said.
However, Maiden said she was sensing “an older male in spirit world”.
“I’m getting the feeling it’s someone with cancer, he’s telling me,” she said.
Bella replied: “My grandfather. He has cancer. I’m not sure if he’s passed yet but he’s had lung cancer, just before I left.”
The marketing consultant, from New South Wales, called home seeking reassurance from her mother that everything was okay as Locky feared she would leave the show.
“The way Alison spoke about my grandfather made me think that he may have passed while I’ve been in here and I just started to tear up,” Bella told the cameras.
“I had to say bye to my grandfather the day before I came in here.
“Hearing Alison bring up my grandfather in the sense that his spirit was in that room triggered the fact that he might have passed and my family may not have told me. I need to call mum. I need to find out if my grandfather’s okay.”
Filling in Locky after the phone call with her mother, Bella said: “He’s okay, that’s the main thing. So it’s all good.”
“I’m not leaving,” she said. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Former The Bachelor winner Laura Byrne, who is engaged to Matty J and has a daughter Marlie-Mae, shared her condolences on Friday night.
“I’m so sorry about your Pa honey. Sending love, that must have been very hard to watch it back again,” she commented on Instagram.
Former contestant Florence Alexandra simply wrote: “Oh Bells.”
In a message later on Friday to her more than 64,000 followers, Bella said: “I read every single comment and message you beautiful humans send, there are no words to describe how lucky and grateful I am for the love and support you have all shown me. I love you guys xx.”
Thursday night’s episode saw Locky and his 10 remaining girls try love in lockdown after the production was dismantled and the mansion evacuated due to COVID-19 restrictions.
