Welcome to MTV Video Music Awards day.
Miley Cyrus has already stunned with a risque see-through red carpet dress, backing it up with an iconic performance which saw her strip down and straddle a giant wrecking ball.
Keeping in line with social restrictions there are some big changes that have been made to the 2020 VMAs, which are being held in New York today. While elements of the show will be live, some performances, award presentations and red carpet interviews have already been pre-recorded.
We’re also awaiting performances from Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, BTS, Doja Cat, J Balvin and Roddy Ricch, with The Weeknd and Maluma already hitting the stage.

After an opening monologue from Palmer noting the two biggest news stories of the year in the US – coronavirus and the Black Lives Matter movement – rapper DaBaby delivers a powerful performance examining police brutality:
…Than by acknowledging the truly shocking news of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman’s death over the weekend. Host Keke Palmer declared at the top of the show that tonight’s ceremony would be dedicated to Boseman, who died aged 43 after a secret four-year battle with colon cancer.
After that, the first performance of the night: The Weeknd, prowling like a Batman villain on a New York rooftop to sing his smash hit Blinding Lights:
Will.i.am to his stylist: Coronavirus but make it fashion

You can always count on Miley Cyrus to bring an OTT pop star moment to the VMAs red carpet:
Set to debut her new single Midnight Sky, Miley Cyrus has given fans a sneak peek as to what they can expect to see when she hits the stage.
No stranger to the VMAs – her 2013 performance featuring Robin Thicke is forever etched in our minds – Cyrus gave a more stripped back performance last year following her split with Liam Hemsworth.
But 2020 is a new year and she’s back. And if her music video for her catchy new tune is anything to go by we’re probably in for a stage filled with bright animal statues, multi-coloured balloons and confetti.
Red carpet action seems a bit limited this year, with celebs instead posing at a socially distanced media wall.
