As politicians are told to mask up in the halls of Parliament House, Mr Albanese became the latest to rock a quirky design.

Mr Albanese, who grew up in council housing in Sydney with his single mother, says she raised him with “three great faiths”: the Labor Party, the Catholic Church and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

He previously said he’d support the NRL team until the day he died.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison is passionate about rival team, the Cronulla Sharks.

But he has only warn a disposable mask when out in Canberra.

When parliament resumed in Canberra last week, Agriculture Minister David Littleproud donned a mask with the map of his electorate on it.

Queensland MP Bob Katter also turned up to a press conference wearing a crocodile mask on Monday.
