Kapil Sharma recently got into trouble for one of his jokes, that was aired on The Kapil Sharma Show on March 28. Kayastha community threatened to boycott the comedian’s show and lodge an FIR against him for making a joke on their deity Chitragupta.
Kapil Sharma took to Twitter and posted an apology note. In his note, he wrote that he got to know that the mention of “Shri Chitragupta” on March 28 episode of The Kapil Sharma Show has hurt the Kayastha community. He apologised and also said that he didn’t intend to hurt anyone through the joke and also apologised on behalf of his team.

More than a month back, Akhil Bharatiya Kayastha Sabha had objected to The Kapil Sharma Show’s content where they had made fun of Chitragupta. The heads of the association had discussed the matter over phone and had warned Kapil Sharma that if he doesn’t apologise, their community would boycott their show and would also file a legal complaint.
The Kapil Sharma Show shoot is currently stalled due to the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. According to the latest reports, the total number of coronavirus positive cases is 1.18 lakh and the death toll has mounted to 3,583.
