Post Manmeet Grewal’s death, Nia Sharma has requested producers to clear the dues on social media.
TV actor Manmeet Grewal committed suicide at his residence in Mumbai, on May 15. Many TV actors mourned the death of the actor on social media. Actress Nia Sharma, who didn’t know Manmeet personally, paid her last respects to the actor and also appealed to the producers to clear the dues, as everyone is going through a financial crisis due to the lockdown.
Nia Sharma took to Instagram and shared a picture of Manmeet Grewal along with a long note. The actress mentioned that she didn’t know the actor but the news about his suicide owing to his financial crisis was disturbing. She also mentioned that most of the people are going through financial trouble.
Nia also mentioned that many of her actor friends haven’t been paid since last year, which makes lives difficult. She wrote, “I know many of my friends(Actors) that haven’t been paid since last year or more with rents and EMIs mounting, work this year clearly being halted indefinitely, everyone’s losing patience somewhere. (sic).”
The Naagin 4 actress also mentioned that she understands that the producers are also facing problems with no clarity of when the shoots will resume. Her post read, “I know, Producers have bigger risks and problems to deal with .. no clarity on the industry resuming Work any soon ,but still keeping up with the salaries of their huge staff , I totally respect that! Infact would thank them for generating thousands of jobs for us through the years, I could make a better life here (sic).”
Nia Sharma requested the producers on behalf of her fellow actors and friends to clear their dues. “On that note, I’d just like to make a humble request on behalf of my fellow actors/ friends, other daily wagers that their dues be paid asap especially at a time when they need it the most so that we’re not waking up to more such Suicide Stories a few days or a month later!! I wish to be financially so strong one day that I myself could help people around. I rest my note,” concluded the actress.
Nia Sharma is currently seen as Brinda in Naagin 4. Recently actors of Zee TV’s Bahu Hamari Silk actors have also complained of non-payment of dues. Actor Zaan Khan had shared videos of the cast and crew demanding payment of dues. However, the producers haven’t responded yet.
