Her character suffered a gruesome death in season 5 of Game of Thrones.
The demise of young Shireen Baratheon, the daughter of Stannis Baratheon, was one of the most confronting scenes in the HBO series’ history – and that’s saying a lot.
The episode, which saw Melisandre sacrifice Shireen by burning her alive, aired five years ago in mid-2015, and we’ve since discovered little Shireen, played by British actress Kerry Ingram, is not so little anymore.
The now 20-year-old, who was only 14 when we last saw her on Game of Thrones, looks completely unrecognisable from her days on the hit show, which is available to stream on Foxtel Now.
Sifting through her Instagram account, which has more than 360,000 followers, Ingram is a picture of maturity with posts of her drinking cocktails, wearing sexy dresses and even – shock horror – smoking a cigarette.
It comes as Ingram spoke to publication BANG Showbiz about the show’s controversial finale, which aired a year ago, revealing she thought it was “really, really good”.
“I think the ending was good, they took into account a lot of the first season. The show started with the Starks and it ended with the Starks,” she said.
“Also I think that the main reason the ending was so controversial is because the show had been running for so long that people had created their own endings.
“People write their own fan fiction, they write their own endings and it’s wonderful to see but then people get ideas in their head and the ending will never match up to their ideas.
“But you can’t please everyone and I personally think it was really, really good,” she said.
