The theatre at Blackpool North Pier is to be renamed in memory of entertainer Joe Longthorne who died last twelve months.
The pier homeowners and his husband Jamie Moran had been in discussions for several months about the idea.
The Hull-born performer, who died in August, had his first summer season season at the pier in 1987.
The Joe Longthorne MBE Theatre will be formally opened on 30 Could per chance also merely adopted by a gala evening on what would had been the entertainer’s 65th birthday.
