Banks in Beirut had been focused by demonstrators for the duration of what they’ve called a ‘week of wrath’, in drawl towards the nation’s banking crisis.

Protests had been ongoing since October 2019. Lebanon’s industrial banks had been limiting savers’ entry to their deposits and blocking most transfers abroad for bigger than two months.
