Roger Federer will be aiming to win his 100th title at the ATP World Tour Finals at London’s O2 arena but will have to get past Novak Djokovic, who will also be looking to finish an impressive season in style.

Federer and Djokovi, who have 34 Grand Slams between them, are the top two bills for the tournament that lacks star power like the injured Rafael Nadal, Juan Martin del Potro, former champion Andy Murray as well as defending champion Grigor Dimitrov.

Despite a mixed season, Federer believes that this year has been a success for him. “I don’t think it matters really where I win my 100th as long as it’s going to happen at one point,” said the 37-year old. “I love playing this event. I always have, ever since I qualified for the very first time back in 2002.”

Meanwhile, Djokovic, who has made an incredible comeback this year after an elbow injury, leads head-to-head against Federer 25-22, the last win coming at the semi-final of the Paris Masters last week. The Wimbledon and US Open win took him back to the number one spot in tennis rankings.

Speaking about his injury, the 31-year old Djokovic said, “But there was always part of me that believed I could make it back and I never thought it was impossible. I just thought at the time it might take more time than I wished it to be. It turned to out to be a perfect five months of the year, with two Grand Slam titles.”

Djokovic is set to end the season at the top spot after Nadal decided to withdraw from the London event.
