Sri Lanka vs England 1st Test, 2nd Day LIVE SCORE UPDATES: Debutant Ben Foakes along with Jack Leach will resume the England innings from 321/8 on the second day of the first Test. Ben Foakes is currently batting on 87, while his partner Leach is on 17. Sri Lanka, who may have lost the grip on the first day, would hope to claim the last two England wickets and give themselves a fresh start as the day progresses. After losing five wickets for 103, the lower-middle order batsmen anchored the England innings as their vital knocks helped the visitors cross the 300-run mark. Dilruwan Perera was the standout bowler for Sri Lanka, as the spinner claimed four wickets in the 28 overs he bowled in the first day. Hello and welcome to our LIVE COVERAGE of the second day of the first Test between Sri Lanka and England. As the hosts would hope to wrap up the England innings early in the day, it would be interesting to see if debutant Ben Foakes can convert his brilliant knock of 87 into the three-figure mark.

Rangana Herath is playing his final Test, his 93rd since his debut in 1999. The former Sri Lanka skipper is retiring from all forms of cricket in Galle after this first Test of three. Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal is confident they can exploit England’s inexperienced top order in spin-friendly conditions at a venue that has been a fortress for Sri Lanka. England hasn’t won its previous four Tests in Galle. (AP)
