Taapsee Pannu reveals that film  gave her a sense of direction

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu says “Pink” not only gave her an audience, but also a sense of direction. “Two years of ‘Pink’! The movie that not just gave me an audience but a sense of direction. What a journey it has been since then! Grateful. Proud to be the ‘Pink’ girl,” Taapsee tweeted on Sunday.

“Pink”, directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, completed two years of its release on Sunday. The film, which received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues, revolves a girl named Minal, who after being molested tries to file an FIR against a politician’s nephew. When the subsequent case gets rigged, Deepak, a retired lawyer, helps her to fight the case.

On Pink’s second birthday, writer of the film Ritesh Shah also revealed “It isn’t easy to attract people to theatre to see a film about consent. For three years it didn’t get made. No production house no corporate stepped forward. I was so sure at one of the corporate houses that the film will be approved because there were about 20 odd people, most of them young and many girls. I thought here it’ll work. But they were like ‘what is the big deal?'”

He also said that “Pink” was earlier titled “Eve” but the makers were not sure if it will work with the audience. During a discussion on Whats App, Shah proposed “Pink” and Shoojit instantly liked it.

On the work front. Taapsee is currently busy shooting for “Badla” along with her “Pink” co-star Amitabh. It is being directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Her latest release Manmarziyaan alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal has managed to impress the audience and critics alike.
