On the special occasion of Akshay Kumar’s birthday, the makers of 2.0 have dropped a new poster giving us a sneak peek about Akki’s character. Directed by S. Shankar, Rajinikanth would be essaying the role of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti whereas Akshay would be seen portraying the role of Dr. Richard in 2.0.

Karan Johar, who is presenting the film, took to Twitter and shared Akshay Kumar’s look for 2.0. “In 4 days, gets the first glimpse of one of the biggest combats on screen! Happy birthday @akshaykumar, wish you a life full of blockbuster performances ahead! #2point0 @shankarshanmugh @rajinikanth @arrahman @LycaProductions @DharmaMovies @apoorvamehta18”, the filmmaker captioned the new 2.0 poster.

Talking about Akshay Kumar’s role in ‘2.0’ a sourced informed Deccan Chronicle, “Akshay is not a villain in ‘2.0’. The costume and prosthetics suggest he plays a ferocious character. And he does!  But Akshay’s role as Dr. Richard is fighting for the right causes. He struggles against forces that have plundered and devastated the earth.” The source also claimed, “It was never a villainous part even when it was offered to Kamal Haasan. Once Akshay came in, even the hints of negativity were removed as they clashed with his image of the national hero.”

Meanwhile, much to the excitement of Rajinikanth and Enthiran fans, Shankar’s 2.0 team recently made the announcement that the film’s 3D teaser will be out on September 13. A new poster featuring a giant bird’s claw shattering glass was released along with this announcement.
