Rahul Gandhi in Jaipur
Launching a scathing attack on PM Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the prime minister couldn’t fulfil any of the promises he had made in the runup to the 2014 parliamentary elections.
Addressing a rally in Jaipur, Rahul Gandhi also claimed that though the Modi government waived off loans worth Rs. 2,00,000 Crore of 15 businessmen, it did nothing for waiving off loans of farmers.
“In the last 2 years, Modi Ji’s government has waived off loans worth Rs. 2,00,000 Crore of 15 businessmen. I asked for loan waivers for farmers, to which his response was, silence,” Rahul said.
“PM Modi had promised 2 crore jobs, Rs. 15 Lakhs in every account & women’s safety, but they failed on all fronts. When I raised the issue of Rafale deal & corruption in Parliament, PM Modi did not spare a minute to answer my questions,” he added.
Reiterating his charges of kickbacks in Rafale fighter jet deal with France, Rahul alleged that the Modi government paid Rs 1600 crore per aircraft to the French company whereas the UPA govt had agreed to give only Rs 540 crore per aircraft.
