The body of a 20-year-old French girl, who had been missing for the last two weeks from Pushkar, was found in Saarkela village of Alwar district on Thursday, as reported by ANI. According to police, Gaelle Chouteau had arrived at Pushkar on May 30 and was leaving for Jaipur on June 1.
Rajendra Singh Superintendent of Police from Ajmer had told The Indian Express on Wednesday that the French Embassy had reported her as missing and since then the police had been investigating about her whereabouts. The police found that her mobile and her ATM cards had not been used in all the time since she has been gone.
“We have come to know that before she left the hotel, Chouteau searched for Tapukra, a locality in Alwar district, on the mobile phone of the hotel owner’s son. Before checking out, she had said that she will be back in two weeks,” said Singh.
France’s ambassador to India, Alexandre Ziegler had tweeted Chouteau’s photograph appealing for help to find the woman.
