Telangana Government employees will get an interim relief on June 2, the State Formation Day. While announcing the decision, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, however, refused to divulge the quantum of interim relief.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday night, he said the Government will appoint a three-member committee to finalise the pay revision report. The panel will be asked to submit the report to the government 4-5 days before August 15.
He said the government would come out with a transfer policy with guidelines on periodic transfers of the employees. The government would also amend rules to ensure spouses get postings in the same mandal or at least in the neighbouring mandals.
The Chief Minister said the government would ensure “compassionate appointments’’ to happen within 10 days of the death of an employee. The government is also considering a request from the women employees to grant five additional leave annually.
The Chief Minister gave a veiled threat to the road transport corporation employees who are threatening to go on strike. He said the corporation reported losses and a strike at this juncture would worsen its financial condition. He reminded them about the 44 per cent fitment that the government announced for them a few years ago.
