Keerthy Suresh is on a career high, thanks to the phenomenal response to her latest film Mahanati, a biopic on legendary south actress Savitri. The Nag Ashwin directed film, which has been released in Telugu and Tamil, has earned both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Even as the film sees a terrific run at the ticket window, Keerthy has moved on to her next project and joined the sets of Thalapathy 62. The film marks her second collaboration with actor Vijay after last year’s Bairavaa. According to the industry grapevine, Keerthy joined the sets on Sunday. The team is currently shooting a song which is being picturised on Vijay and Keerthy.

It is the third time Vijay and AR Murugadoss are coming together for a film after Thuppakki and Kaththi. Tipped to be another action-based social drama, the film will have music by AR Rahman, who has teamed up with Vijay for the second time in a row after last year’s blockbuster Mersal.
The project was officially launched with a puja in Chennai in January. Sun Pictures, best known for producing Rajinikanth’s Enthiran, is bankrolling the project. The film will be made on a lavish budget. While it has already been confirmed that Girish Gangadharan, the young lensman, whose recent work includes Kali and Solo, has been signed on for the project, editor Sreekar Prasad, who has worked with Murugadoss in projects such as Thuppakki and Spyder, is also part of the film.
Gearing up for Diwali 2018 release, Thalapathy 62 also stars Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi in pivotal roles. It is being rumoured that Varalaxmi may be seen playing a negative role in the film, which is currently being filmed in Chennai.
